California authorities are investigating a shooting that took place outside Rihanna’s Beverly Hills home on Sunday afternoon. The Los Angeles Police Department reported that officers responded to calls about gunfire around 1:15 p.m. local time on March 8. Early reports indicated that the singer was at home during the incident, but police later confirmed that no one was injured.
According to investigators, the suspect—a woman believed to be in her 30s—briefly stopped a vehicle outside the property and fired several rounds toward the house. Authorities reported that between seven and nine shots were fired, some of which struck parts of the property. Officers later found damage to a gate and bullet holes in a recreational vehicle parked in the driveway, underscoring the seriousness of the event.
After the shooting, the suspect reportedly fled in a white Tesla, heading south along Coldwater Canyon Drive. Police launched an immediate search using patrol units and a helicopter, eventually locating the vehicle in a shopping center parking lot in Sherman Oaks. Roughly thirty minutes after the initial emergency call, officers stopped the car and arrested the suspect. A search of the vehicle revealed an assault-style rifle and shell casings.
Authorities said details about the suspect and potential charges would be released as the investigation progresses. Officials told outlets, including CBS News and NBC News, that more information would become available once booking procedures are completed. For now, police report that the situation is under control, and the investigation remains active as they work to determine the motive behind the shooting.
