Braxton took to social media to recount her experience, beginning with expressions of thankfulness for being alive before detailing the terrifying events that have changed her perspective on life.
On her Instagram Story, she first reposted a short message from @trustgodbro against a black backdrop, accompanied by a worship song, showing appreciation for another day.
She then posted a longer note on a gradient background of blue, green, and yellow, written in white script font. Braxton admitted she struggled to even write, feeling weak and barely able to speak.
She revealed that she “almost died Sunday” after a friend discovered her in a pool of blood. The singer suffered a fractured nose, lost teeth, and experienced mobility problems. She asked her fans for prayers and noted how profoundly the experience altered her view on life, ending the post with heartbreak emojis.
Turning to her faith for comfort, Braxton shared a photo of an open Bible highlighting Proverbs 31, emphasizing themes of resilience, wisdom, and strength during her recovery.
Fans quickly responded online, with some questioning the details of the incident: “How you don’t know what happened to you? Need the backstory!” Others speculated about potential causes, from fainting to a stroke, while many offered prayers and messages of support for her and her son, Logan Vincent Herbert.
This latest scare comes amid a history of health challenges. In 2020, Braxton was found unresponsive in a Los Angeles hotel, suspected of a possible suicide attempt related to stress from her WeTV contract. Police reported it as a possible overdose, and she received close medical care. Earlier, in 2015, Braxton had to leave Dancing with the Stars after being hospitalized.
