Authorities are investigating Food Network star Anne Burrell’s sudden death as a possible drug overdose, The New York Times reports.
Burrell, 55, was found dead in the shower of her Brooklyn home on June 17, surrounded by about 100 pills, according to an NYPD report. Emergency responders were unable to revive her. A 911 call noted possible cardiac arrest.
An autopsy has been completed, but the official cause of death is still pending.
Burrell spent her final weeks with loved ones and remained active in supporting others. Her death has shocked the culinary world.
