A 6th grader discovers their bus driver accidentally damages a parked car. Instead of running away, the child leaves a thoughtful, detailed note on the vehicle, taking responsibility and explaining what happened.

A college student’s shout-out to a sixth grader who left a note on his car after it was hit by a school bus has gone viral on Twitter.

Andrew Sipowicz, 21, from Buffalo, New York, discovered a handwritten note on his vehicle explaining, “Bus 449 hit your car,” accompanied by a small drawing. After he posted it online, the child’s teacher recognized the handwriting and reached out to him.

Andrew told the BBC he and his family are incredibly grateful and hope to reward the girl, whose honesty likely saved him thousands in repair costs. His tweet has been liked over 500,000 times.

The note described the incident in detail: the bus driver tried to pull off but accidentally dented his car, then drove away. The student even included a drawing of the bus, complete with passengers’ faces. Andrew suspects the girl had gotten off the bus near the accident site and returned later to leave the note.

After contacting the bus company, he received an apology and confirmation they would cover the damage. He plans to thank the student in person after the Thanksgiving break.

Andrew praised her courage, saying it would have been easier for her to ignore the situation. Many online commenters noted her neat handwriting and artistic detail, some joking she could have a future in insurance or art. His post also prompted others to share similar stories of children leaving notes about accidents.
