His family shared the heartbreaking news, stating, “Chuck peacefully passed away in his sleep at his home in Rochester, New York, on July 22, 2025.”
A trumpet and flugelhorn virtuoso, Mangione’s distinctively melodic and accessible style brought jazz to a wider audience. “Feels So Good” became a crossover phenomenon, reaching number four on the Billboard Hot 100 chart and cementing his place in music history. Throughout his illustrious career, he released numerous albums and continued to perform, leaving an indelible mark on the jazz landscape.
