Caesar the bear spent the early years of her life in unimaginable cruelty. She was held captive on a bile farm in China, where bears are exploited for traditional medicine. Forced to wear a rigid metal vest, Caesar was used for bile extraction around the clock. The device was so tight that she could barely move, trapping her in a tiny enclosure with no relief.
For years, her existence was defined by pain and confinement. The vest functioned like a medieval torture tool, compressing her body, while a metal spike near her neck prevented her from resisting or trying to remove it.
