Sarah Palin is opening up about her 2020 divorce from ex-husband Todd, ending a marriage of three decades, and her new relationship with retired New York Rangers player Ron Duguay.
In an interview with The New York Post, the 58-year-old former vice presidential nominee called the divorce “earth-shattering” and “bizarre,” recalling that she first learned of Todd’s intentions via an email from his attorney. The couple shares five children.
Palin said that Todd has since moved on, spending time with his longtime girlfriend. Meanwhile, she has begun dating 64-year-old Duguay, who was previously married to supermodel Kim Alexis.
Their relationship started when Palin reached out to Duguay, an old friend, for advice on her defamation lawsuit against The New York Times—a case over a past editorial that wrongly connected her political group to a mass shooting. Although the suit was dismissed after a federal judge ruled she couldn’t prove “actual malice,” her friendship with Duguay developed into a romantic relationship she described as “safe and comfortable.”
During the trial, Duguay also acted as a guide around New York City, showing Palin places tied to his Rangers days and sharing stories about his career.
