While Ben Affleck is keeping a low profile amid the buzz around Jennifer Lopez’s latest music, sources claim he’s not exactly thrilled about being the inspiration behind some of her lyrics — especially when they hit a little too close to home.
Lopez is currently touring with her “Up All Night” show, where she’s been performing a collection of new songs. Many believe several tracks are directly aimed at her ex-husband, Ben Affleck.
Insiders close to the singer say this new era in her music is all about raw emotion and honesty. “Jennifer has enough material for an entirely new album. It’s deeply influenced by her relationship with Ben,” a source revealed. “Songs like ‘Wreckage Of You’ clearly reference him, while ‘Up All Night’ reflects where she is emotionally right now. She’s done holding back.”
But Affleck isn’t exactly flattered by the attention. A source told The Daily Mail that he sees the whole thing as “childish.” “If these songs are taking jabs at him, he doesn’t care. He thinks it’s immature and not worth reacting to,” the source explained. “He can’t control it, and he’s not going to let it affect him.”
Still, Affleck supposedly isn’t shocked Lopez is expressing herself through her art. “He’s known her long enough to expect this. It’s how she processes things — through her music. He gets it, even if he doesn’t love being in the spotlight because of it.”
