US Army’s 250th Anniversary Parade Draws Criticism Over Sloppy Marching
The US Army celebrated its 250th birthday on 14 June with a massive military parade in Washington DC, featuring over 6,600 troops, tanks, and even robot dogs. Former President Donald Trump, 78, attended with his wife Melania and military leaders. The event reportedly cost $45 million and was the first large-scale military parade in the US since 1991.
However, social media users were quick to criticize the event, pointing to poor coordination and lackluster energy among the troops. Many speculated that the sloppy marching was a subtle protest against Trump, with some calling it a “big f**k you” from the soldiers.
“The formation was a mess. The energy? Dead. The message? Clear: They’re not marching for Trump,” one user wrote.
While the White House claimed over 250,000 people attended, photos and videos suggested sparse crowds and empty seats. Trump praised the troops and called the US the “hottest country in the world right now,” though critics noted his own history of draft deferments.
