Six months after the tragic death of her son, Reed, at 22 months old, influencer Lindsay Dewey has announced on Instagram that she is writing a children’s book to honor his memory. Dewey explained that the book, titled Reed’s Roar, was created “to bring beauty and inspiration from ashes” and to ensure that her son’s “life remains honored and remembered.”
The devastating incident occurred in February when an unsecured mirror in her home fell on top of the toddler while he was playing nearby. According to Dewey’s account, she was in another room cooking when she heard the mirror fall. Though she managed to lift the heavy mirror off him within seconds, Reed’s injuries were fatal. He was later declared brain dead, and his organs were donated.
Despite the tragic inspiration, Dewey has assured her 96,000 followers that the book will be “lighthearted, creative, and children-age appropriate,” with a meaningful message about bravery, sacrifice, and kindness. Her hope is that the book will become a favorite for families to read together.
