Melania Trump revealed that Donald Trump had wanted to expand their family.

Donald and Melania Trump have been married since 2005 and welcomed their son, Barron, in 2006. While Donald focused on his real estate empire, Melania took primary responsibility for raising Barron, shielding him from public scrutiny and nurturing his interests, from science and math to creativity and languages. She even let him draw on the walls, encouraging his imagination.

Despite Donald having four older children from previous marriages, he wanted more kids after Barron was born, but Melania was content with just one, citing their busy lives. She has always prioritized spending time with Barron, preparing his meals, helping with homework, and exposing him to her work life to set an example of productivity.

Barron grew up bilingual, speaking Slovenian with his grandparents, and pursued his own interests, from planes to drums. Even as he attended Oxbridge Academy and later NYU’s Stern School of Business, Melania ensured he stayed grounded, living at home to balance independence with guidance.

Melania raised Barron to think independently, respecting his choices while nurturing his development. She calls him an “incredible” young man, proud of his intelligence, kindness, and strength, and continues to support him as he begins adulthood.
