Nicky taught her husband, John, a harsh lesson after he left her for a younger brunette. When John announced he was “tired” of his monotonous life and wanted a divorce, Nicky exploded. He smugly told her he was leaving her for a younger, more beautiful woman and that she was a “dead goat.” But Nicky warned him he wouldn’t get a single penny. John scoffed, telling her she would never leave him. He then revealed his plan to live like a free man in Mexico, taking nearly all of their savings from their joint account and leaving her with nothing. Nicky broke down in tears, but she was not going to let him get away with it.
The Harsh Reality
Three months later, Nicky heard a knock on the door. It was John, begging on his knees for her forgiveness. He had met a young woman named Maddison who, he thought, loved him. They spent two months in Mexico together, but she was a con artist who robbed him and made him do all the cooking and cleaning. She had two children, and John even babysat them, but she would never sleep with him. It was all a scam to get his money.
Suddenly, the doorbell rang again. It was Maddison. The two women exchanged glances and burst out laughing. It was all a trap. Maddison was actually Mandy, Nicky’s friend’s daughter. Nicky had tracked John down using Facebook and hired Mandy to get revenge. “You will be the one at a loss this time,” Nicky yelled. “Take your luggage and leave my house immediately! And yes, I’m divorcing you, you jerk! And I’ll see to it that you don’t get a single cent! So get up and leave! GET OUT OF MY HOUSE NOW!”
John took his luggage and left the house, mumbling something Nicky didn’t care about. She thanked Mandy, and the two women enjoyed a cup of raspberry tea, laughing about their successful plan. A few months later, John and Nicky were divorced. When their children learned what had transpired, they took their mother’s side and ridiculed their father.
What can we learn from this story?
- You can’t escape karma. John cheated on Nicky and tried to make her life a living hell, but karma caught up with him.
- Stop thinking of homemakers as weak. John believed he could easily convince Nicky to divorce him because he was the breadwinner and thus, had the upper hand in the marriage. But karma proved him wrong.
